Game 1 of the New Season Series: Team Jared vs. Team Shawn Ends in a Classic Deadlock

Last Wednesday night at Earl Nichols Arena, the new season series kicked off with Team Jared and Team Shawn squaring off in a tight defensive battle that had all the hallmarks of classic summer box lacrosse. The benches were fresh, the rosters shuffled, and both squads wasted no time settling into their new identities.

It was Matt “Austo” Austin who broke the ice, opening the scoring in a first period defined by disciplined defense and sharp goaltending. Both teams were quick to close gaps, but when the defense did bend, the goalies stepped up with clutch saves. Team Jared edged ahead 2-1 after the first, and maintained a slim 3-2 lead at the halfway mark when the netminders switched ends.

The chess match continued through the third, with Team Jared clinging to a 5-4 advantage as the clock wound down. But with just 52 seconds left, Austo—who started the scoring—came through in the clutch again, burying the game-tying goal and sealing a hard-earned 5-5 draw. Both teams showed flashes of offensive creativity, but it was the commitment to defense and standout goalie play that set the tone for the night.

London Masters Lacrosse League – Series Recap

Kevin’s One-Arm Blast Seals Series for Team Cienna in 10-9 Thriller

Last week’s Wednesday night showdown was a classic, with Team Cienna and Team Lia battling back and forth in a game that kept everyone guessing until the final whistle. With new referees on the floor—whose credentials were, let’s say, a little open to interpretation—the action was fast, unpredictable, and full of talking points.

The lead changed hands several times, but in the end it was Kevin who kept his scoring streak going and stole the spotlight, unleashing another signature one-arm power shot to break the deadlock and secure a 10-9 victory for Team Cienna. Team Lia threw everything they had into a late-game surge, even pulling the goalie in a last-ditch effort, but Cienna’s deeper, fresher bench proved decisive as they held on to close out the series.

With Team Cienna clinching the set, the league now turns the page and kicks off a brand new series tonight. The rivalry is alive and well—don’t miss your chance to catch the next chapter!
