Considering the scheduling of the 7th game of the Stanley Cup finals last night, turnout for 3 of the 4 teams was surprisingly good and both games ended up being competitive and fun.

In the 1st game Team Jacquie scored quickly and often but Team Dirka kept fighting back. Team Jacquie led by 2 at the end of the 1st period but Team Dirka cut the lead to 1 by the end of the 2nd. Lots of chances for Team Dirka to score but Team Jacquie’s defense and goaltending came through – final score Team Jacquie 9 – Team Dirka 7.

In the late game Team Sharley was short players…again! …but there were enough available players willing to play the 2nd game to compensate.  The result was a very fast, high scoring game with the lead switching numerous times. The game remained tight until late in the 3rd period when Team Lia was able to score a couple of unanswered goals on the way to a 11-9 victory.

Team Sharley  vs.  Team Jacquie     8:00pm  –  9:00pm.

Team Dirka  vs.  Team Lia     9:00pm  –  10:00pm.

Hockey and basketball will be over so there should be no more excuses for not playing Canada’s summer sport on Wednesday evenings in London. Make sure you check the roster page early next week as there will likely be some changes to remove players that have yet to show up and possibly make some moves to shore up Team Sharley’s attendance.
