On a good note, overall standings still show 2 teams at .500 with the other 2 teams plus/minus 1/2 game – overall parity maintained! On a micro scale, in the actual games last night, 2 blowouts …sigh… 🙁

In the early game Team Sharley was firing on all cylinders from the first face off. A full bench with scoring distributed across all of the line combinations made for an impressive performance. Team Sharley scored early and it was never really close. Final score Team Sharley 14 – Team Jacquie 7. The strengths of the new Team Sharley ownership group are undeniable – since taking over from the winless Team Blair management group, Team Sharley has gone undefeated and is on a 3 game win streak.

In the late game, a slim turnout for Team Dirka did not bode well for their attempt to stay on top of the league standings. Team Lia scored and kept scoring on a regular pace to pull in front and stay ahead of a struggling Team Dirka. Final score Team Lia 11 – Team Dirka 6.

On an individual note, in the final year of his current contract, KevinL made a definite statement to start upcoming negotiations, dominating the offensive zone and scoring with his signature booming, one-handed shot. Winter contract talks should be interesting – will Team Lia be willing to put up with his rumored asking price of $8 for 8 yrs?  Is an 8 yr contract term appropriate for a 55+ yr old player? How will his contract demands fit with the stringent LMHLL salary cap structure? Already 1/3 of the way to reaching his rich 2018 scoring performance bonus target, can KevinL score 2 more goals and lock down the promised pitcher of beer bonus payout?  LMHLL – the drama is not just in the games!
